I am Sunny, Schenna's small sun, and I welcome you to my village!
Bathing lakes
Bathing fun of a different kind... Where in South Tyrol can you cool down during the summer?
It does not always have to be in a modern pool. Near Schenna, there are a number of smaller and large bathing lakes.
The following is some information on Lake Montiggl and Lake Kaltern:
Lake Montiggl (12.7 metres deep – 17.8 hectare large) is part of the village of Eppan (approx. 35 km from Schenna). It is situated in a quiet location in the forest area.
South of Katlern (approx. 45 km from Schenna), you can find the warmest lake in the entire Alpine region. Lake Kaltern (4 metres deep – 155 hectare large) is embedded in the midst of typical South Tyrolean vineyards.
These lakes offer the possibility of a cool swim during the summer. They can also be used for rowing, fishing, hiking, cycling, jogging, Nordic Walking, wind surfing (only at Lake Kaltern). During the winter, they are available for ice skating and curling. There are numerous restaurants and lidos nearby.
